Safeguarding

As part of our safeguarding policy all staff members are aware of their responsibility to speak out when they have a concern but also how to follow up these concerns or a disclosure in the correct way following our ‘whistleblowing’ policy. We have multiple Designated Safeguarding Leads at Nursery to support both staff and children in our care. If parents have any concerns or need guidance they are encouraged to speak to a member of the management team as soon as possible or Family Connect on 01952 385 385. The front door is always locked and only opened when staff recognise those coming to the door to ensure all children are safe and secure. No mobile phones or other photographic/image recording devices being used in the play rooms at nursery including cameras or smart watches. We have Nursery iPads and can share pictures with parents individually via Learning Journals.

First Aid

Every practitioner at Central Park Nursery has a full Paediatric First Aid Qualification and we are accredited through Millies Mark as going above and beyond First Aid requirements in an educational setting. More information regarding Millies Mark can be found at: www.milliesmark.com/for-parents

Fire Drills

Fire drills are carried out monthly to ensure all children and practitioners are aware of what they need to do when hearing the alarm. This continual practise not only supports their knowledge on fire safety but also gives them to confidence not to panic and to follow instructions, keeping themselves safe.

We follow guidelines as laid out in GDPR guidance 2018 and will not share information without discussing it with you first. The way in which we store and share the information is closely linked to our ‘whistleblowing procedure’ and the information we share if we feel it is in the best interest of the child. For example, child protection concerns.
