Meals & Menus, Breastfeeding & Food Allergies

Meals

At Nursery we have an onsite Chef who cooks all our delicious food on a daily basis to ensure its freshness. We understand how important it is for all children to have food that is nutritious and tasty to help them develop physically and mentally. Our menu has been checked by a nutritionist from Telford and Wrekin to ensure a high standard of food.

We are very proud of our 5-star rating from the Food Standards Agency and comply with Safer Food Better Business. Regular visits from Environmental Health have always been positive earning the Elite Award for continued excellence.

Menus

Meals are included within our sessional prices. If your child is funded, meals come as an additional cost unless a packed lunch is provided. We provide a rolling menu with balanced, healthy meals from around the world and homemade favourites. Children are offered morning and afternoon snacks and drinks are provided throughout the Nursery Day.

Menus can be viewed in the foyer alongside our healthy eating information and Environmental Health certification.

Packed Lunches

Packed lunches and snacks, must meet our healthy eating standards and comply with low salt and sugar content. Food cannot be reheated at nursery so a conventional packed lunch with cold items must be provided.

Inspiration for Healthy Lunchboxes can be found on www.nhs.uk/healthier-families/

Food Allergies

All of our meals/dishes can be adapted to make them suitable for children with dietary requirements and allergies, to follow religious practises or parental preferences for example, vegetarian/vegan.

Breastfeeding

At Central Park Nursery we are aware of the benefits of breastfeeding and support parents who would like to continue breastfeeding when they return to work. Some mothers choose to express milk and bring it in daily, others prefer to come to Nursery on their breaks to breastfeed and some choose to do both.

Whatever parents decide, we support this choice and do our utmost to ensure that both children and parents are happy.
Exercise

NHS Guidance states that children should spend at least 180 minutes (3 hours) a day doing a variety of physical activities spread throughout the day, including active and outdoor play.

We ensure that all children have access to a range of physical activities such as running, climbing, jumping, mark making and much more. Our new outdoor Climbing Area has made this even easier to achieve, with all children having access to it throughout the day!

My daughter really enjoys her meals at Nursery.  The cook offers a well-balanced and nutritional meal every day with lots of variety.

Marie and her team in the baby room were very accommodating when I breastfed my son after returning to work.
My son seems to enjoy his meals at Nursery especially the vegetable curry, which I now also make at home.
