Fundraising – Charity Support and Gifts
Throughout the year we participate in various fundraising activities for big charity events and local support groups. We support Crackerjacks Children’s Charity, Children in Need, the Macmillan Cancer Charity and many others through pyjama days, coffee mornings, sponsored walks and other fun activities. Periodically, we request food donations for Telford Crisis Support for food parcels and children’s gifts for the Salvation Army Gift Donation at Christmas time.
OUTSIDE FUNDRAISING:
In 2018 we spent lots of time and effort updating our Playrooms, buying new resources, decorating and planning lots of new activities. In 2019, we will continue to improve these areas but are shifting our main focus to the outside areas.

We recognise how important it is for children to spend time in our garden and this year we will be raising money for a pirate ship climbing frame and a play house through bake sales and raffles and much much more.

COMMUNITY & SPONSORSHIP:
For the second year running Central Park Nursery will be sponsoring a local football team. Wrockwardine Wood U13’s performed extremely well last season and are off to a great start this one!
Last year as U12’s the team had an amazing year winning the Shropshire Girl’s U12’s Top League, the U12’s Management Cup (2-0), U12’s Futsal Final (2-0) and made it to the U12’s Futsal Regional Finals. We are very proud to have our name on their kit.
At Nursery we believe in supporting the local community so as well as cheering from the sidelines, we also take time to talk to the children about teamwork and the positive effect of a healthy and active lifestyle. We also hope to inspire the children at Nursery to get out and try something new.
Alongside this we also aim to create a memento or gift, which can be purchased from Nursery at a small cost. These projects involve all the children at Nursery such as Christmas cards, tea towels and jute bags with the children’s hand drawn pictures or painted handprints on them.
We recently produced a Nursery cookbook where parents brought in family recipes with photos of their children cooking the food. This has made a fabulous book and everyone enjoyed taking part. Please see the management team if you would like to purchase a copy – there are some delicious recipes inside!
We have a Photographer who comes in to Nursery twice a year to capture precious memories of the children.
These are available for parents to purchase if they wish and make perfect gifts for grandparents and relatives.
