At Central Park Nursery we aim to support the children in our care to the best of our ability and continually look for new ways to engage them while encouraging them to try new things, learn new skills and most of all enjoy their time here. Each room has their own end of room goals and also key skills they would like the children to develop during their time in the room.

Alongside child-initiated play, register, story and rhyme-time and other set activities through the day, the practitioners plan a range of activities that have the Early Years Foundation Stage at the very heart. All activities are geared to help the children’s development progress to ensure they are School ready at the end of their journey through Central Park Nursery.

  • Forest School
Outside Education is also a big part of the curriculum offer we have at nursery and we are lucky to have our very own Forest School on site. Children in Rising 3’s and Preschool have the opportunity twice a week to access this with a Qualified Forest School Leader from Wrekin Forest School. These include activities such as making toasting sticks, using our fire pit, getting muddy in our mud kitchen and much more.
  • British Values

We also promote British Values which are intertwined into all areas of learning and development.

Democracy – Encouraging everyone within Nursery to share their views and opinions to support our efforts to continually improve the service we provide and to help make decisions which affect our Nursery.

The Rule of Law – To support children’s morals and understanding of right and wrong. At Nursery we have a strict no bullying, racial or verbal abuse policy and this is something we feel is important for children to understand as they learn and grow.

Individual Liberty – We promote independence, personal choice, self-awareness and confidence whenever possible as we feel that these characteristics are the building blocks of a child’s wellbeing and resilience.

Mutual Tolerance and Respect – We encourage all children to respect that people are different based on their culture, religion or background and celebrate these differences through role play, special occasions, cultural resources and conversational group activities.

Additional to the curriculum we have an array of visitors each year including:
Animal Man
